Never expect people to change for the better. It isn’t impossible, but it is unlikely without some kind of major event in their lives that they learn from.

Chasing conservatives whose minds can be changed was always a stupid idea. Obama showed that a message of positive and progressive change increases turnout which favors the Dems because the people who just want things to run smooth or improve are a lot less engaged than the ones who want to tear it down.

But no, they went right back to trying to appease moderates because they don’t learn anything.

Now it is just Lose.

‘Diversity hire’ was a slur agsinst minorities and women for decades before DEI became a term. Turning DEI into a slur ss just the expanded version of the same thing since it also includes equity and inclusion.

Conservatives sure like twisting positive things into scary stories to rile up their base.

And if they disagree but understand the purpose then they can sell their car and use the money to buy a new one and the old one is still on the road so the letter backfires.

I get the idea behind the letter, just don’t think it will do what it is intended to do.

Boycots only work so far as people agree with you.

So does writing a letter to someone to pass their swazticar on to someone else.

Europe seems to be successfully choosing not to buy more which will be both faster and more effective at reducing the number of Teslas sold and having it leave the market.

That is a massively better response than accusing people of some weird conspiracy and insulting them for not seeing things the same way you do.

I don’t think it actually works that way, and people simply boycotting future purchases seems like a more effective strategy at cutting off Tesla income since that is already working in Europe.

The value doesn’t matter if they are still around. I guess it could reduce future new sales. But if someone has a shitty thing in public and just sells it to someone else who also has it in public the end result is the shitty thing being in public.

Cool, so if the price goes down and now some less well off person who cares more about their necessary affordable transportation can buy an electric car. Do we blame them for choosing a cheap Tesla over taking a voluntary stand against Musk when they aren’t giving money to Musk in the second hand market?

Other than the person who sold the car no longer having that car, what does this solve?

The meme is suggesting passing the thing along to the next person who will then be the target. Like selling a nazi uniform to someone else who will wear it instead, it wxchanged hands but is atill around.

It is an obvious possible first take, not some mysterious coordinated pooh poohing of a meme.

it’s like if you were debating coke vs pepsi, and suddenly there were hundreds of people chiming in, “Have you tried standing on your head and peeing into your own mouth?” It’s neither intelligent nor relevant in any way. That’s what you sound like.

This both makes zero sense as a comparison and shows you lack reading comprehension skills.

Provider doesn’t make any sense when the content is coming from other places.

Fine, “I choose Burger King as my hamburger provider but I expect to be able to access a Big Mac from Burger King unless they are defederated.”

They reached the end of what reddit used to be a long time ago when they switched to yet another algorithm based flood of crap.

A few small communities might carry on the tradition, but the site as a whole is nothing like the user curated content aggregator that it used to be.

Even pointless ones that don’t result in fewer of the thing existing? Selling it just means passing off the note to the next person.

So you’re creating a rule but won’t actually explain how the rule works so that people can at least try to properly follow the rule, all because you don’t want people to “game it?” Dude, come on. That’s stupid as all fuck.

Every fucking time I see admins/mods say this as to why they cann’t clearly articulate rukes it drives me crazy. Just give the rule and explain the intent because what is seen as gaming the rules is just the times people were close to violating it.
