For two very important reasons. Apple doesn’t make shit, they don’t sit in the writers’ room, they don’t produce, they don’t interfere with the creation of their originals on any level. They buy IP rights and then hire experts to do all the work.
The second reason is Apple is spending more per episode of their originals than anyone else, including Netflix.
Sanctity of the creative process and a whole lotta money will get you very good content.
I remember seeing a Baywatch documentary on TV when I was a kid. Pamela Anderson was going on about how they cut the legs of their swimsuits to be much higher up their thighs than the actual lifeguard uniforms they were based on. And how they were required to ice their nipples before each take so that they had pokeys in every scene.

Ironically, the mirror is the one most likely to be misrepresenting your image. In addition to being a flipped image of what you look like, anything but the most perfectly flat piece of glass is slightly distorting your proportions. And some mirrors are built to intentionally distort your appearance to make you appear more flattering to yourself.
