There were two camps, you had the Jeffersonian camp that was all about the people should be free to vote and do whatever, then you had the Federalist camp like Alexander Hamilton who didn’t trust the people and felt the gov needed a buffer against the mindless mobs. It is looking like Hamilton was right.

Why don’t they just say what they really want? They want you to be docile, not challenge the echo chamber, and upvote everything and smile like an idiot. I’ve learned this lesson and pretty much just block all ragebait subs and mostly sit quietly in the corner. Just watch the ads like a good data point.

I got banned because I posted a comment on an anti vaxx sub (I was challenging one of their comments) and found out a lot of subs had ban bots that just watched who posted to subs they didn’t like. Whatever you do don’t put any thought into your mod work or look at the comment’s context.

Get rid of the goddamn up/down vote system then. It sounds like it is headed towards youtube where they only show upvotes to create a fake “yaaay!” impression.
