  • When it comes to controversial subs, the general rule is if you have really dedicated mods who are super careful to never break a rule themselves you can generally keep it up.

Those mods not breaking any rules individually is important because otherwise the admins will invoke their backup plan for dealing with a sub they don’t like but isn’t breaking any rules - keeping the mods under a microscope and looking for any excuse to ban them and immediately ban the sub for being unmoderated, refuse to give it to new mods, and ban any replacement sub for recreating a banned sub.

They could just ban the sub because they don’t like it, but that kind of seeming capriciousness tends to get a bad reaction from the userbase, which is why they look for an excuse to justify the ban.

  • Not quite. KiwiFarms is older than 8Chan. KiwiFarms was originally called CWCki and was dedicated specifically to Chris-chan because Encyclopedia Dramatica wasn’t quite what some of that person’s harassers wanted it to be. 8chan wouldn’t open for another 8 months after CWCki was founded but before it was renamed KiwiFarms.

Let’s be clear here - Chris-chan has been systematically harassed for literal decades, has a bunch of problems at least some of which are consequences of that. Chris-chan is also probably the single most documented human being in history as a consequence of the massive and dedicated “fan” base.

  • Generally ad companies want to sell space to the highest bidder that won’t cost them more money than they’d make. They only bow to foreign Nazis when foreign Nazis are the most efficient way to make money, and that is more about bowing to money than bowing to Nazis.

You can never trust a salesman. And ad people are salesmen selling you buying stuff from other people. Politicians are salesmen selling that they should be in charge of you.
