  • Homie I live in Farmersville, USA and there isn’t a fuckbilly from here to Hicktown, USA that is guna bitch about the time it says on the clock vs what they have to do in the time they have with the sun up.

I’ll take you at your word as being right, since you have “boots on the ground”.

For what its worth, I’ve watched plenty of interviews on news shows about it over many years, and it allways gets said that farmers want DST. But apparently that’s not true.

As far as schools, I stand by my point. Maybe it’ll make the idiots dumb enough to invest in a crotch fruit or two totake a look at the learning efficiency of kids and teens after the 5 hr mark. It’s dumb as fuck having kids go to school 35 hrs a week or whatever it may be.

What the hell does that have to do with parents not wanting their children waiting for the morning bus in the dark?

  • Was quick browsing for openwrt and found the banana pi r3.

One thing that surprised me when I was looking to upgrade my old router ith OpenWRT is if a firmware for your router supports ALL of the features/hardware of that router. In my case, Wifi support was not supported, so I had to disregard using OpenWRT as a choice.

So be sure to look carefully at the firmware that you find. I personally had just thought that if a firmware exists for your hardware that all of the major (but maybe not minor) features would be supported, and that is not always the case.

  • From the article …

The ubiquitous ESP32 microchip made by Chinese manufacturer Espressif and used by over 1 billion units as of 2023

From the person I’m replying to …

I’d kind of like to know whether these can be used against an unpaired device or not. That’d seem to have a pretty dramatic impact on the scope of the vulnerability.

Don’t see how that would matter much. The “scope of the vulnerability” is sufficiently large enough that it should not be partially or otherwise discredited as a risk.

If someone owns a Bluetooth device, then its fair to think that at some point they’d actually use it, being vulnerable to the backdoor access. That’s billions of uses right there, on a regular basis.

    From the article …

The researchers warned that ESP32 is one of the world’s most widely used chips for Wi-Fi + Bluetooth connectivity in IoT (Internet of Things) devices, so the risk of any backdoor in them is significant.

  • (Quick aside, just wanted to mention that I hate how this post has -15 votes on it. Its a relevant question to at least discuss, at this time in history.)

To answer the OP, because its the right thing to do, if you care about others, and care about how others would treat you. A.k.a., “The Golden Rule” (the Socialist one, not the Capitalistic one).

If you need a more “closer to home” personal/selfish type of answer, I’d say because if everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, plays the humanity system to their benefit over all others, then the center does not hold, and humanity collapses. And our lives and/or happiness then is at risk during times of anarchy.

Try to remember that, as a species, we’re very young, still evolving, from the animalistic (“Every person for Themself”) to the spiritual (“One for All, All for One”). Things swing back-and-forth, over time. Can’t have the Good without the Bad.

Also, cooperation is bred into us, at the meta/species level, less so at the individual level, but still somewhat there too. It can be trained/psyop’d out of us during childhood, but its there. But overall, we’re each other superpower, in a tame sort of way. Imagine any problem, then imagine what it would be like if everybody worked together to solve that problem. That problem would be solved.

When you see everybody else around you cheating and winning, and getting ahead of you, its tempting to do the same. But if you’re not that kind of person, you lose a part of yourself if you acquiesce to those negative feelings. Its better to be able to look in the mirror each day, and like what you see looking back at you.

And finally, remember, there are others that believe the same way you do, even during the darkest times.

    Edit: Typos.
