Attending an indoor sports meet this weekend for my kid and can’t help but see that half the parents are working on their laptops. It hurts me inside to see people having to work on the weekend, especially so many. Is this hustle? Or is this just part of the job?
Either way, people need to be free on their weekends or it will drive you nuts. This work culture isn’t healthy.
It’s probably more interesting to them than watching their kids. I’ve known people that would work late all the time and sometimes on weekends, or always trying to travel for work to avoid their families.
Maybe they work flex time, so they can take time off during the week to do other stuff with their family. Or maybe they’re not working at all, could be organizing sports stuff for their kid. Or doing an online class or something.
